Marty Jabara

2016 - 2017

Greetings and thank you for your visit.

In 2014 and 2015 my cabaret duo BALL & JABARA was profiled on German television station 3SAT and featured excerpts from our successful stage show "Menschenskinder! - Ich bin Kopf bis Fuß auf Wickeln eingestellt" by Marcus Morlinghaus, Ball & Jabara.

In 2009 I formed a duo called Ball & Jabara with the extraordinary actress and singer Franziska Ball of Munich. We are currently presenting the following programs:

! - Ich bin von Kopf bis Fuß auf Wickeln eingestellt." This "mini-musical" combines familiar melodies, witty parody lyrics and biting social commentary about parenting, sexual politics and other household hazards.

“Tango Bavaria” - Our newest collaboration is a passionate love story and musical journey between Bavaria and Argentina spanning two generations and featuring the haunting music of Astor Piazzolla, Kurt Weill, Juliette Greco and other international songs in Spanish, French, English and  German.

"Glamour & l'Amour" - a colorful bouquet of 60 film melodies, love songs and international chansons from Marlene Dietrich, Zarah Leander, Hildegard Knef, Marilyn Monroe, Edith Piaf, Elvis Presley and more.

"Hildegard Knef - eine Femmage" - an engaging stage portrait of the sultry German actress, singer and best-selling author. This nostalgic journey features a delightful evening of timeless songs and a razor-sharp portrayal of the controversial diva.

"L'amour fou - die kleine Meerjungfrau" -A "fairy tale for adults". This deeply touching story features a captivating blend of French chansons and German text by Hans Christian Andersen.

My CD of original songs called "The Source" is available to purchase. Each song features a different soloist and spotlights my talented friends Lynn Coulter, Niki Haris, Mortonette, Jan Roper, Randy Crenshaw, Angela Carole Brown, Linda Hopkins, Sean Holt and Chelsea DiBlasi. A tapestry of pulsating rhythm, evocative harmony and reflective lyrics, "The Source" explores the breadth of my musical experience: R&B, pop, world, blues and jazz.
